SQL Server Tips by Gama and Naughter

This XP allows a string to be written to an ini file. The underlying SDK function used is “WritePrivateProfileString”. This XP requires 4 parameters, namely the ini filename, the section to use, the key to write and the key’s associated value. This XP along with all the other XP’s use the input parameter data type mapping functionality provided by the XP++ framework, to obtain these 4 parameters as TCHAR style strings which the underlying SDK function requires. The XP++ framework is also used to transparently handle UNICODE as well as ASCII data presented as input parameters. Using these features of the framework allows the DLL to be compiled for ASCII in addition to UNICODE very easily.
